On holiday....need a place to stay. New Zealand Vacation Homes specialise in the letting of "self House at Waihi Beach (8k) catering" holiday houses, flats and apartments. There are many holiday houses situated throughout New Zealand at this country's beautiful lakes, sandy beaches, remote locations and major tourist areas.

Our present listing includes holiday homes available from the far north of New Zealand down to the far south. Here we would like to name just a few of the main centres, starting with the Northland, called the "Winterless North" because of its mild, subtropical climate.

The Northland is a region of unspoilt beauty, fishing rich in Maori and Pakeha history. The main centre in the Northland is Paihia in the Bay of Islands.

Within the Auckland boundary there are 48 volcanic cones, 22 regional parks and 50 islands, all set against two magnificent harbours, the Waitemata and the Manukau. In addition to the beautiful setting, there is fantastic shopping, more than 900 restaurants, 50 adventure activities, 45 picturesque vineyards and 500 km of walking tracks.

For the Auckland Area New Zealand Vacation Homes has divided the accommodation into Greater Auckland, Auckland and Auckland City. The city is located on a spectacular harbour which containing many islands such as Waiheke which is a popular holiday area.

A popular day trip for Aucklanders because of its accessibility is the Coromandel, a scenic peninsula that sits out to the east of Auckland City. The main attractions of the Coromandel besides solitude and scenery, are the many fine beaches and scenic coastline that rate amongst the best in the country.

The Bay of Plenty is New Zealand's most active volcanic region and Rotorua, one of the major towns here, is New Zealand's most popular tourist attraction. Rotorua is conveniently located near Auckland. The Central Plateau is a volcanic zone and contains some of the most violent thermal activity in the country. The region is centred around Lake Taupo which is New Zealand's biggest lake and is actually a crater of a huge volcano. In fact Lake Taupo use to be a mountain but was completely destroyed by the biggest volcanic eruption in the last 5000 years.

And last but not least, Queenstown - the jewel in the crown of Central Otago. This town is one of New Zealand's premier tourist destinations and the gateway to the best ski fields in the country.
